Decking that handles the Arizona heat.

What you actually stand on.
Most pool decking in Arizona is exposed aggregate concrete poured 20+ years ago, cracked at the edges, hot enough to scorch bare feet in July, and visually tired. It’s also the largest single visual element around your pool.
We re-deck pools with materials selected for actual desert performance: travertine that stays cool, pavers with proper drainage, concrete coatings that bond rather than peel. Each material has trade-offs in cost, longevity, and feel that we walk through up front.
Decking work can be standalone (re-deck only) or sequenced into a pool remodel. Either way, the goal is the same: a surface that looks intentional, performs in the heat, and lasts well past the next remodel cycle.
Deck and hardscape installs run under our own CR-21 Hardscaping & Irrigation license, ROC #367131 — held alongside our KA-5 pool license, ROC #355710. Base prep, drainage, and coping tie-ins are done by the same licensed crew that built the shell, not a third party working off someone else’s plan.

what homeowners ask
Can I deck over my existing concrete?
Often, yes. If the substrate is structurally sound and properly drained, we can apply coatings or pavers directly. Damaged substrate needs to be replaced, and we'll tell you which after the assessment.
How long can I not use the deck?
Most decking projects require 1 to 2 weeks of limited deck access. Pool use during decking work is usually fine. We sequence the work to keep the pool accessible whenever possible.
How much does new decking cost?
$8K to $30K+ depending on size, material, and substrate condition. A concrete coating refresh starts lower; full travertine replacement on a large deck goes higher. Line-item proposal makes the trade-offs clear.
Which material stays coolest in summer?
Light-colored travertine and reflective coatings stay coolest. Dark pavers and dark concrete get the hottest. We bring samples so you can compare in your yard, in your light.
